The international 2015 Ernst von Siemens Music Prize will be awarded to Christoph Eschenbach

The Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation has announced that Christoph Eschenbach, Music Director of the National Symphony Orchestra and of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, will be the recipient of the 2015 Ernst von Siemens Music Prize. The official ceremony will take place in Munich’s Hercules Hall (Herkulessaal), a primary venue for the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, and the award will be bestowed by Michael Krüger, President of the Bavarian Academy of Fine Arts, on May 31, 2015. 
The Ernst von Siemens Music Prize has been described as “music’s Nobel Prize.”

Summer Night Concert Schönbrunn 2014 is available on DVD!

An estimated 40,000 people came to the magnificent grounds of Schönbrunn Palace to hear compositions by Hector Berlioz, Franz Liszt and Richard Strauss.
The Vienna Philharmonic performed its annual Summer Night Concert Schönbrunn, an open air event with free admission, in the unique ambience of the gardens of Schönbrunn Palace on Thursday, May 29, 2014. The Summer Night Concert was conducted for the first time by Christoph Eschenbach. The soloist was Lang Lang.
The Summer Night Concert 2014 can now be pre-ordered as CD, DVD or Blu-ray in the Vienna Philharmonic Online Shop.
