Summer Night Concert Schnbrunn 2014 is available on DVD!

An estimated 40,000 people came to the magnificent grounds of Schnbrunn Palace to hear compositions by Hector Berlioz, Franz Liszt and Richard Strauss.
The Vienna Philharmonic performed its annual Summer Night Concert Schnbrunn, an open air event with free admission, in the unique ambience of the gardens of Schnbrunn Palace on Thursday, May 29, 2014. The Summer Night Concert was conducted for the first time by Christoph Eschenbach. The soloist was Lang Lang.
The Summer Night Concert 2014 can now be pre-ordered as CD, DVD or Blu-ray in the Vienna Philharmonic Online Shop.

Christoph Eschenbach extends contract as Music Director of the National Symphony Orchestra and Kennedy Center through the 2016-2017 season

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts today announced a two-year extension of Christoph Eschenbachs contract as Music Director of both the National Symphony Orchestra and the Kennedy Center. Currently serving his fourth season in those capacities, Maestro Eschenbachs current contract runs through the 2014-2015 season. The new two-year agreement extends through the end of the 2016-2017 season.
